    The West Central Model Railroad Club is located at 805 Clifton St. in  Sparta, Wisconsin.    We are an  HO scale, permanent layout club located in our own building, right next to the Canadian Pacific  (Formerly Soo Line <formerly Milwaukee Road>) mainline between Chicago and St. Paul.   We purchased the building in the fall of 1987 and started building the layout in 1988.

    The West Central Model Railroaders own their own 1500 sq. ft. building and have an elaborate HO scale model railroad nearing completion.  Over 7 scale miles of mainline trackage has already been constructed, featuring city scenes with industry and railyards, country scenes with hills and rivers, and mountain scenes with tunnels and trestles.
    Our membership is open to people of all ages interested in model railroading who would like to be a part of the development of this exciting project.  We are eager to welcome anyone who is willing to contribute time and talent to this task.  There are many opportunities for working on scenery construction, electrical connections, track laying, model building, and of course locomotives and rolling stock.  The more members we can recruit, the sooner the layout can be finished and realistic operation can begin.
    The club has about 10 members and is always looking for more members, both adults and junior members.  We have monthly dues of $25 for adults and $10 for junior members.  We meet at the club house every Monday and Thursday, starting at around 7:30.  We have a running night every third Saturday of the Month.  We plan to have operating sessions in the future.
